Deficit reduction past the sixth wave
Deficit reduction over the period marked in gray in Figure 11a (from Feb 7th to the current date) is the result of CM adding to the national database known cases that had not been uploaded in due time. The dates on which those cases occurred can be determined by comparing the cell contents in the national database as of Feb 7th, 2022 with those on the date of the last update of the database. Figure 11b shows such differences in cell contents for each and all days between May 1st, 2020 and Feb 7th, 2022. Deficit reduction thus arose due to the (late) addition to the national database of numerous known cases occurred since early Dec 2021 (when the sixth wave was hitting) and others occurred while the fifth wave was hitting (Jul-Aug 2021). This deficit reduction occurs despite the fact that a good number of cases have been eliminated from the database along the way, particularly cases registered during the second wave (Aug-Oct 2020), the third wave (Jan-Feb 2021), and the fourth wave (Apr 2021).
