ACTIVIDADES DOCENTES
Clases teóricas
The theoretical classes will be taught as theoretical-practical lectures, where student participation and interaction is key. The lecturer will cover the course material and facilitate the understanding of the different topics. Support resources will be available on the online platform (Virtual Campus).
Clases prácticas
Practical lessons:
Practical exercises and experimental tasks related to the theoretical content will be carried out. Role plays may be performed to simulate situations that allow demonstrating effects related to the course. During the practical classes, the students will also present their individual or group work.

Semestre
Breve descriptor:
This course covers the topics of knowledge representation, categorization and concepts, inductive and deductive reasoning, judgment, problem solving and decision making. We describe what features make human thinking adaptive and flexible. We explain the limitation of our thinking and reasoning processes, their biases and their reliance on other basic cognitive resources such as attention, memory and executive functions. We explore cognitive models of different facets of thinking, what empirical findings support or inspire them, and their achievements and limitations. We study the normative theories that define the ideal way of thinking, based on formal logic, probability, and economic theory. Everyday thinking is compared with normative thinking to understand the origin of the differences between the two. We also consider how evolution has conditioned and guided our way of thinking.

Evaluación
The grading of the contents covered in the theory classes will have a weight of between 60% and 80% and the evaluation of the contents of the practical part of between 20% and 40%. The formula that will be applied for the questions with several alternatives will be the one commonly used: Number of hits - Number of errors / (number of alternatives - 1). In accordance with RD1125/2003, the grade will be based on a maximum score of 10 points: Aprobado between 5 and 6.9 points, notable between 7 and 8.9 points, and sobresaliente between 9 and 10 points. The matrícula de honor will be granted if the requirements are met.
